Our design story picks up where the ETS852 tenor left off. We have now extended our vision of the 52nd Street family, bringing its hallmark sound character coupled with advanced ergonomic design and patented DS mechanism to the alto. We partnered with acclaimed Eastman saxophone artist Alex Hahn to dial in key details, particularly focusing in on the development of a completely new "H" neck, perfectly suited for the EAS852.
The 52nd Street saxophone is a professional instrument and comes unlacquered for a truly vintage appearance. It is an exceptionally responsive horn in all registers and produces a big, fat sound with precise intonation. A larger bell and rolled-style tone holes contribute to the sound qualities of this instrument that many compare to some of the great vintage horns of the past. This model includes both an "S" and "H" neck, developed with Alex Hahn, and features our DS mechanism to provide players with versatility and unmatched playability.
