Hahn Synthetic (from Germany) ***
Hahn Synthetic Reeds are made with a highly developed component called hollow fiberglass. This material is the most similar
to natural cane in terms of resistance, response and overall behavior.
(Best synthetic reed I have played, made of "Glass Fiber". The sound of cane with the durability of synthetics!!
Sax Alley is the Sole US Distributor of Hahn Reeds.)
- Bb Clarinet - $19.00 per reed
- Soprano - $19.00 per reed
- Alto - $20.00 per reed
- Tenor - $21.00 per reed
- Baritone - $22.00 per reed
- Hahn Reeds come in half strength sizes from #2 to #4. All strengths are normally available in stock.
Here are a some testimonials from our Artist / Endorsers and some of our Hahn Reed Customers:
"Reach in the case and grab that Hahn reed and you're off and running. That's the best thing any
Saxophone player could have these days."

Recently moving to the mile-high city, I found that my regular reeds played a lot different. I discovered the Hahn Synthetic
reeds and they made reed-selection much easier. I like the consistency, the richness, and the longevity of the Hahn's reeds
and they travel with me everywhere I go.

The Hahn synthetic reeds are by far the best synthetic saxophone reed I've played. They are very musical and I
love the fact that they play the same regardless of climate, altitude or environment. I have found them to produce
a very full and robust sound that is equally impressive on stage as well as in the studio. They produce rich, full
overtones and the ease of response and articulation are excellent!

Tim,
I have to tell you that, first of all, I`ve been playing for many years now and have played almost all the plastic or
composition reeds available for baritone sax in that time. When I read about the Hahn on your website and the testimonials
written I was skeptical, but decided to try one because of what your customers had written about it. I first tried it at
home then took it out on a gig with a band that I play with here in my home area. I could not believe it. It played as well
or better than any cane reed that I`ve ever played in my life. It had none of the harshness that is inherent in plastic or
composition reeds and, in short, it was the absolute best reed all in all that I`ve ever played. After our break I plan to
take it out on the road and I'll certainly make sure all the saxophone players I work with know about it. Thanks so much and
I hope you sell many of the Hahn Reed.

Tim
I began playing sax while in Junior High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Like every other sax player, I have been on a
never-ending search for the right reed and mouthpiece combination. After many years of trial and error, pleasure and disgust, trying
filed and unfiled reeds, comparing wood reeds against synthetic reeds, filing reeds myself, cutting reeds, rubbing reeds, trying reeds
that vary in size by 1/4, medium vs. medium soft vs. medium hard, numbering reeds, putting reeds in plastic storage bags and lastly,
putting reeds in little humidifiers, I have hit the right combination.
While on a gig in Laguna Beach, California, I was introduced to Hahn Reeds by a customer that no longer played, but read about them
somewhere. I ordered them the following morning and recorded with them the same evening I received them. As I reported
to you, it was love at first try. No more trials, no more worrying if the reed will last. I used to spend as much time finding the
right reed (only to have it last 1 or 2 gigs) as I did practicing.
Hahn Reeds are here to stay. I play them on my soprano, alto and tenor saxophones. It doesn't matter whether I am recording or
in live performance, Hahn Reeds are on my mouthpieces.

Timothy,
I wanted to tell you how well these Hahn reeds play for me! I have experimented with synthetics for a long time,
more or less exclusively since '97, trying every brand that I have heard of and the Hahn reeds are the only brand
that has satisfied the three basic requirements that I have for a reed.
I want a reed to project well and feel solid, I don't want the tone to have that irritating synthetic mid-range buzz
that screams ,"I am a plastic reed!", and I want the reeds to be consistent in quality. They are spot on with all three
and I will be ordering more in a week or so!
And, on a personal note, thanks for your Christ-centered approach with your business; your commitment to the Lord and
quality products and work is awesome, and it does not go unnoticed. The quote from Thessalonians is priceless; I'm
committing that one to memory. I'm writing it down and I'm gonna work on it while I help my daughter memorize her
scriptures for "Bible Buddies".
Thanks so much...........Daryl Dunn

Hi Tim- just tried calling you.
That reed is incredible (Hahn synthetic)!! I feel like I just discovered buried treasure! It makes the
Fibracell sound like a cheap imitation. WOW- easy altissimo, full sound throughout, versatile. I have GOT
to try this thing on my other horns. This could mean the end of dry reed syndrome, and that seems almost
too good to be true. I would like to order: . . . .
Thanks again. Considering the time and money I've spent over the years on reeds, this is truly awesome!!!!
God Bless,

Hi Tim!
I got the gear in the mail today, and have spent the past 3.5 hours using it. In all honesty, I was
expecting the Hahns to be just decent. They are, however, the BEST, and most responsive reeds I have
ever used! Kiss Vandoren goodbye!
Thanks again so much!

Tim:
The word that covers it, is "WOW!!!!!!" It plays and speaks perfectly on my #6 Gregory, and my #6 WW Two
Clear Brillhart. No buzzing like the Hartmanns either.
I can phrase pianissimo to wide open without any problem, barely moving my embouchure, unlike everything
else I have tried. Thanks so much for the service, and let me know. This thing (Hahn Synthetic Reed) is
incredible.
Kindest Regards,

*** Hahn Reeds - Tips on looking after your Hahn reed from the information sheet included with each reed.
- If you like, you can fine-tune the shape of your Hahn reed, but we do
not think that this is necessary. If you do so, rework the hahn reed by
wet grinding it only. Afterwards clean away the last traces of grinding
dust and polish it with a coarse cloth.
- As you play your instrument, the reed will absorb only very small
amounts of moisture. You should, though, dry it as often as possible,
so that its playing qualities remain constant, and in order also to
give it a long life.
- You can use your Hahn reed for a very long time without any change in
its playing characteristics. For hygienic reasons, you should clean it
from time to time with alcohol, or allow it to soak in an alcohol bath.
Do not use cleaning spirits, as these contain poisonous substances.
- Due to its shape, small particles may chip off at its tip after
lengthy use. This will not influence your hahn reed's quality.
- The rubber fitting piece improves sound and playing qualities but you
do not have to use it if you do not wish, and you may remove it.
- If you have comments on our product or ideas for its improvement,
please contact Hahn at: e-mail: hahnreeds@yahoo.de
