Dave Guardala Studio Model Tenor Mouthpiece - NEW

It was the Michael Brecker models that propelled Guardala mouthpiece to legendary status. They were played, of course, by Michael himself. Please enjoy a video of Michael playing on a MB mouthpiece below.

Dave Guardala sent shockwaves through the jazz community in the 1980s with his revolutionary approach to mouthpieces; he believed a superior sound could be reached through precise, high quality manufacturing and innovative CNC technology. This technology opened the doors to a previously unheard level of precision in mouthpiece technology.

CNC machined mouthpieces are known for their resonance and vibration characteristics. Although Guardala mouthpieces are machined, they still require finishing and extreme attention to detail.
This means every Guardala mouthpiece is a combination of computer accuracy and professional handcrafting expertise. Nadir is that professional. Nadir has decades of experience creating Dave Guardala mouthpieces for the European market.

Nadir’s LT (laser trimmed) models have his basic hand work. Nadir’s “Handworked” models have extensive crafting (several hourse) added to the mouthpieces.

Nadir is now the world’s only manufacturer of Guardala Mouthpieces. He has taken on the legendary mouthpieces and carried them into the new millennium.  The .116” is the third brightest of the Tenor models. It has tremendous volume with unexcelled resonance and a full and balanced frequency response. This model incorporates a high baffle with a medium bore. The sound of this model is clearly demonstrated by Michael Brecker in the period 1979-1982 (Brecker Brother´s Band). The Studio can be used for all types of music a “Studio Man “ would encounter, from Fusion to Swing, hence it´s name. This is our middle of the road mouthpiece.

Nadir in Germany is now making the Dave Guardala mouthpieces.  He is a superb craftsman and they are identical to the laser trimmed pieces that Dave used to make.  He has the exclusive on these pieces now, Dave is not involved, but they are made to the exact same specifications.

Available in Silver-Plate or Gold-Plate.  Silver-Plate is normally in stock.  Gold-Plate is a special order item.  Comes with ligature and cap.
