Larry Combs LC1 Clarinet Mouthpiece - Used (SOLD)

Larry Combs played with New Orleans Symphony Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, and the Santa Fe Opera before joining the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1974. He was appointed principal clarinet of the CSO by Sir Georg Solti in 1978.

He put his name on this mouthpiece made by Woodwind Company.  Many say it's a good production piece and will work reasonably well if you aren't a professional player.

This mouthpiece is in great condition with only minor teeth marks on the bite area.  Tip, rails and facing looks perfect, although the rubber is somewhat discolored.

No ligature or cap included.  We have the Vandoren Optimum, M/O and Francois Louis Pure Brass ligatures, normally in stock, so click on the "Ligature Option" if you would like to include one of those with this mouthpiece.

Leblanc 'Symphonie 3 Model' Bb Clarinet #9,0xx (1950's or 60's?) (SOLD)

This Leblanc Bb Clarinet is somewhat of a mystery (serial #9,0xx).  It says "Symphonie Model" on the upper joing, but the serial number would indicate something later, like a Symphonie 3.  Keys are nickel.

Condition is very good, no cracks, but the pads are definitely getting old.  Case is excellent and it comes with the original Leblanc 2L Mouthpiece with ligature and cap.  I can tell neither joing is sealing well now.

We are no longer working on clarinets since our superb flute and clarinet tech has left for a shop in Denmark.  This one is in "as is" condition, hence the lower price.  You can have your local clarinet tech work on it for you.

Jazz players tend to really like these older Leblanc Clarinets so, if you're a doubler, you should consider this one.

Leblanc Bb Clarinet #5,7xx (1960's)

This Leblanc Bb Clarinet is somewhat of a mystery to me (serial #5,7xx).  I am definitely no expert, but every source I have looked at shows that the emblem is from the 1960's, but there is no model name on the instrument at all.  Keys are nickel.

Condition is good except that the barrel is cracked, although not all the way through to either end.  Case is excellent, protected by a canvas case cover, and the clarinet comes with a Selmer Hard Rubber HS* Mouthpiece with Selmer nickel ligature and cap.

We are no longer working on clarinets since our superb flute and clarinet tech has left for a shop in Denmark.  Pads appear to be pretty good.  This one is in "as is" condition, hence the lower price.  You can have your local clarinet tech work on it for you.

Marc Jean Bb CLARINET Ligature - (Un-lacquered)

Marc Jean ligature concept is:

Our second generation of Marc Jean Ligatures have been improved in many ways. The sound enlargement generated by the very thick piece of grenadilla wood (clarinet wood) replacing the 2 wooden sticks is phenomenal.

The amplification of natural harmonics is comparable to the use of a double reed.

On the new Marc Jean ligature II, the piece of grenadilla wood is
adding 60 % of mass to your reed multiplying the reflection of the
tone and harmonics by as much.

The new ligature model was designed to enable the reed to vibrate
even more freely. As a result, there is less resistance when blowing
into the instrument and less air is required to produce the sound.
Low notes can be played effortlessly at a whisper and a larger,
richer tone results.

The Marc Jean ligature II generates a very dark, warm and very open
sound which is more powerful than ever. You will notice an even
emission in all registers, ever more free blowing and surrounded by a
multitude of rich harmonics.

(Un-lacquerd model generally in stock.  Others are by special order.)

No Mouthpiece Cap is included.  If you would like a Rovner cap that fits this mouthpiece, please click or tap on the "Cap Option" and we will include the correct cap with your order.

Marc Jean Bone Bb CLARINET Barrel - 65mm

This Bb clarinet barrel was made by Marc Jean.  It is shorter than a standard 67mm clarinet barrel at 65mm. This will work better for a doubler switching between instruments who doesn't have the time to warm up the instrument.

This barrel is unusal since it is made from BONE. The bone adds a layer of brightness and projection. This barrel is a must have for anyone who needs to 'cut through' their band!
